The Prophecy of the Slightly Sticky Remote and the Mildly Annoyed Chosen One

The ancient prophecy of Eldoria spoke of a hero, one "foretold by the faint scent of mildew and a recurring urge to check if the stove was off." This was Bartholomew 'Barty' Butterfield, a mid-level accountant whose greatest martial feat was successfully assembling IKEA furniture with only two leftover screws.

Barty was dramatically summoned by Elmsworth, the Asthmatic Oracle, who wheezed, "The threads of destiny, Barty, are woven through your peculiar habit of humming show tunes!" Barty, adjusting his ill-fitting tunic, replied, "Is this about my Spotify subscription again? Because I *did* pay it."

"Nay!" gasped Elmsworth, consulting a scroll that appeared suspiciously like a dry-cleaning receipt. "It is the Overlord Grungle! He who hoards expired coupons, leaves exactly three crumbs in the butter dish, and whose 'evil' dominion spans the passive-aggressive placement of passive-aggressive notes!"

To defeat Grungle, Barty was presented with the fabled Spoon of Utterly Mild Disappointment. "It possesses," Elmsworth declared, eyes watering from a dust mite, "the power to gently scrape the bottom of a yogurt pot without bending, and to stir lukewarm tea!"

Barty, armed with the Spoon and a deepening sense of bewilderment, confronted Grungle. The Overlord was attempting to balance a teacup on his nose while muttering about "unreliable internet." "Grungle!" Barty declared, rather weakly. "Cease your minor inconveniences!"

Grungle sighed, dropping the teacup. "Look, I just haven't had time to do the dishes, alright? And that sticky remote? It was *you* who used it after eating that jam donut, Barty!" Barty stared at his own sticky fingers. The Spoon of Utterly Mild Disappointment clattered to the floor. "Oh," he said. "Right. My bad. Want to split a pizza?"

Grungle shrugged. "Sure. But you're paying." And thus, Eldoria was saved from… well, from mostly self-inflicted minor annoyances and the lingering threat of a slightly sticky remote. Barty's legacy became the prompt payment of shared utilities.
